The Kantalomba Project

Swan Missions work at Kantolomba started when the 2008 Mission Team helped to conduct a feeding program to over 300 children. Our team was shocked by the desperation shown by these children as they attempted to access the food.  They literally fought each other to get their bowls filled with the maze, meal fish and vegetables that was on offer. It was as if these kids hadn’t eaten for a week (and we found out many of them hadn't). Even more shocking was to see some of the younger children crying and standing with empty bowls in their hands. The agency running the feeding program (Immanuel Mercy and Reachout Ministries), told us that land had been promised to them from the Government to build a school should a donor come forward. Hearing about the plight of these children, and the fact that they had no access to affordable education, lead us to start the Kantolomba project:

A project seeking to empower the Kantolomba Community through education nutrition and healthcare.
