Mission Statement
Building Understanding
of God’s heart for all people.
Bringing Hope
to those in facing injustice.
Goals
Swan Mission has been established to provide bridges of understanding and support to some of the poorest regions in the world. We seek to educate people in our community of plight faced by those experiencing injustice and impoverishment in Cambodia and Zambia.
Our Aims are as follows:
- Encourage the student’s relationship with Jesus Christ
- Develop a greater empathy for those in third world situations
- Gain an awareness of the mission experience in an international context
- Stretch us in new areas of faith and giftedness, which will impact the student’s life and ministry
- Develop the students’ self esteem as they contribute to the lives of others through acts of service
- Develop teamwork and leadership skills as the students are exposed to various missionary experiences

We take seriously Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
In light of this verse we cannot ignore the following statistics:
- Half of the world's children live in poverty (1 billion).
- 10.6 million children died in 2003 before they reached the age of five (29,000 children per day).
- Almost half the world — over 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day.
- The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) of the 41 Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (567 million people) is less than the wealth of the world’s 7 richest people combined.
- Less than one per cent of what the world spent every year on weapons was needed to put every child into school by the year 2000 and yet it didn’t happen.

Our short term missions trips help bring these statistics to life and are life changing for all involved.
